your passion for hospitality! In 1964, Robert McCulloch opened the
original Nautical Inn, with just 16 rooms, a cocktail lounge, and a
180-seat dining room overlooking Thompson Bay. Over the next
several years, the hotel expanded to accommodate the Bay Rooms,
Cove Suites, the Commodore, and Captain Suites. Today, we are a
one-stop, iconic destination boasting 139 rooms (that all overlook
the water), 3 Food and Beverage outlets, a convention center,
private launch ramp, a waterpark and fun for everyone. About the
Role: The Maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in
ensuring the optimal operation and reliability of all mechanical
and electrical systems within our Nautical Arizona headquarters.
This position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and
repair of boilers, refrigeration units, compressors, and chilled
water systems, which are essential to the facility's daily
operations. The engineer will implement preventive maintenance
programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment,
thereby supporting a safe and efficient working environment.
Collaboration with the hotel maintenance team and other departments
will be necessary to address any facility-related issues promptly
and effectively. Ultimately, the Maintenance Engineer will
contribute to maintaining high standards of operational excellence
and safety compliance across all systems under their care. Minimum
Qualifications: Must have experience in carpentry, drywall, and
painting Proven experience working with HVAC, refrigeration
systems, compressors, and electrical systems in a maintenance
capacity. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and
safety standards applicable to mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and
schematics. Valid certification or license for handling and
maintaining boiler systems and refrigeration equipment. Preferred
Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent certification in
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related
technical field Experience in hotel or hospitality facility
maintenance environments. Certification in HVAC or refrigeration
technology. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management
systems (MaintainX). Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections,
maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration,
compressors, and electrical systems to ensure continuous and
efficient operation. Develop and execute preventive maintenance
schedules to reduce equipment failures and prolong system life.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, troubleshoot issues, and
implement timely corrective actions. Coordinate with hotel
maintenance and other facility teams to address maintenance
requests and emergencies promptly. Maintain accurate records of
maintenance activities, equipment status, and compliance with
safety regulations. Skills: The Maintenance Engineer will utilize
their expertise in boilers, refrigeration, compressors, and chilled
water systems daily to ensure all equipment operates efficiently
and safely. Plumbing and electrical system knowledge will be
essential for diagnosing and repairing faults quickly, minimizing
downtime. Preventive maintenance skills will be applied to develop
and follow maintenance schedules that prevent unexpected failures
and extend equipment life. Collaboration and communication skills
will be important when working with hotel maintenance teams and
other departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
Additionally, the ability to interpret technical documentation and
use maintenance management software will support accurate
record-keeping and compliance with safety standards.
