Job Summary: The Connection Technology Product Business Manager is
a strategic and purposeful role that integrates interconnects,
passives and electromechanical (IP&E) knowledge with a passion
for proactively serving existing customers as well as identifying
and pursuing new projects.

The areas of application for our PCB Terminal Blocks and PCB
Multi-Connectors are very diverse. PTR HARTMANN products are used
in sectors from automation technology, safety engineering and
telecommunications right up to building automation.
Special designs of PCB terminal blocks and PCB Multi-Connector
Systems such as special lengths for soldering pins, different
colors, partly assembled PCB terminal blocks, marking with pad
printing, inkjet printing or laser marking are just as much a part
of our scope of delivery as the supplying of modules, fully
populated PCBs with or without pre-assembled cables as well as PCB
Terminal Blocks and Pin Strips in tape-on-reel, tube or tray
packaging.
Essential Functions
Must have experience working for a distributor, OEM, or contract
manufacturing
Maintain and develop relationships with an assigned customer base
primarily in the Electronic & Electrical SIC arena
Pursues potential new business opportunities in the Electronic &
Electrical SIC fields
Serves customers by identifying their needs for connection
technology - Interconnects, Passives and Electromechanical
(IP&E) components and services
Ability to understand the industry and customer specifications and
drawings
Work closely with Engineers, often participating in the design
cycle from initial concept to finished product
Understands the landscape of the electronics industry
Develop and maintain relationships with our customers, monitor
sales trends and product performance results
Continually enhance your abilities, sales skills, and product
knowledge
Knowledge of and ability to apply engineering methodologies to
solve problems
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops, reviewing professional publications,
establishing personal networks, and participating in professional
societies
Requirements:
Skills Required
Thorough understanding of PTR Hartmann products & connection
technology (terminal blocks, connectors, switches, relays, and test
probes)
Must have Business Development Experience
Excellent sales, customer service, and people skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent sales presentation and negotiation skills
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
Ability to Travel - 20%
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong CRM utilization skills
Ability to read and speak English and interpret a variety of
instructions (written, oral, or diagrams)
Education and Experience:
8-10 years' experience working with Electrical Distribution,
Contract Manufacturing (CM) and/or Manufacturing
Representatives
3 years sales experience
Prefer 2 years minimum of college credits in electrical or
mechanical engineering
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
Travel Requirements
- Periodic travel will be required to the East Coast office in
Frederick, Maryland, and European partner sites.
- Local travel to meet with customers will be expected
regularly
- Occasional travel (up to 20%) to customers
