  • Responsible for collecting and maintaining control of assigned account receivables though telephone or written communication with customers.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Director of Credit Services when they are out of the office.
  • Supervisory responsibility for all Credit Staff daily including planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Interface with customers, branch personnel, and various other departments in order to effect prompt collection of receivables.
  • Utilize Aged Trial Balance and Receivable Management Reports as applied in collection efforts.
  • Provide proper coverage of all delinquent accounts each month.
  • Perform turnover of uncollectable accounts to third parties with Management's review.
  • Research and resolve disputes regarding billings, purchase orders, freight, material returns, quantity issues and other types of disputes through proper channels.
  • Negotiate repayment schedules and settlements of accounts in accordance with Credit - - ----Management's review and approval.
  • Initiate proper adjustments to clear statement items such as discounts, freight, debit/credit offsets, proper matching of credits to debits, miscellaneous balances and other types of adjustments to keep customer balances in order.
  • Initiate customer contact to clear on-account (O/A) payments to specific invoices through proper written communication with customer.Review credit memos for proper preparation by the branch and application to customers account.
    • Initiate and prepare documentation for customer refunds.
    • Monitor and prepare application of customer payments and follow-up with cash application department when necessary.
    • Review and recommend and supply supporting credit data for changes in customer credit limits.
    • Assist in all tasks and special projects as assigned by the Director of Credit Services.
    • Ensure full compliance in the filing of preliminary notices and processing of material lien releases.
    • Perform timely preparation of monthly reports on delinquent accounts as defined by the Director of Credit Services.
    • Inform the Director of Credit Services regularly as to credit issues and the status of accounts including the setting of reasonable limits, significant collection problems, branch issues to be resolved before collection can be effectuated and improvement in Credit and Collection status from the prior month.
    • May require personal visits to customers.Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, 5+ years in related experience.
      • Experience reviewing and analyzing commercial credit data using industry credit rating agencies and platforms (experience using Experian preferred).
      • Experience in industrial distribution preferred.
      • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.).
