Must have experience in buying produce.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

The Replenishment Buyer will play an integral role within the Purchasing Department. Key responsibilities include procuring raw and perishable materials, managing stock levels and maintaining supplier relationships. Candidate must be familiar with JIT and lean manufacturing practices.

Primary Duties:

? Purchase raw materials and other operating supplies and/or services in timely manner to support the manufacturing of finished foods and new product development.

? Coordinate with vendors to obtain information concerning product, negotiate price, ability or vendor to provide product or service of delivery date.

? Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

? Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and other departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely matter.

? Work with suppliers to order and expedite product shipments and deliveries.

? Interface with shipping and receiving personnel to prepare and audit shipments, perform systems transactions and track materials deliveries/shipments.

? Track and Maintain proper levels of stocked inventory.

? Work with R&D team on sourcing new raw material or packaging, collecting samples and product information (Specifications, Nutritional and CN equivalent meal contribution, etc).

? All other administrative duties relevant for assigned product categories.

Requirements

? Excellent problem solving, analytical, teamwork and organizational skills.

? Experience working with MRP and ERP.

? Excellent communication skills. Able to foster excellent relationships, trust and credibility quickly at all levels within the organization while achieving key operating objectives. Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

? Highly Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

? 3 Years food purchasing experience desired- minimum 1 year required, fresh produce experience a plus.
