Job Description:

Canyon Ridge Hospital is a leading Behavioral Health Facility located in Chino California. The hospital is part of the Universal Health Services Network of Behavioral health facilities. Our MHWs are responsible for providing direct patient care to Children, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics diagnosed with psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders; to ensure the safety and well-being of these patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu. Responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment, reporting concerns to the nurse, documentation, facilitating or assisting with groups when necessary, following program specifications, and risk management. Responsible for providing direct care and performing duties in accordance with hospital policies and procedures in collaboration with the nursing services team. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40db loss @ Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fin discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.Non-Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. High school level reading and writing skills; CNA Certification preferred; acceptable oral and written communication skills; legible handwriting; ability to maintain information as highly confidential; telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face; familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred; skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization; basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful; skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills; use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients; empathy toward patients; basic knowledge of 12-step treatment program; insight regarding denial and resistance to treatment; knowledge of the recovery process, including relapse and relapse prevention. Must be currently CPR certified through the American Heart Association.
