Job Description:
JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in
the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including
Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK's
cross streets is named in his honor. Originally called Indio
Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital
that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of
services, including: •Emergency care 24/7 •Orthopedic and joint
replacement services using emerging technology •Cardiovascular
services •Maternity care and pediatric services •Ambulatory surgery
center •Imaging services •Outpatient Rehabilitation Center Up to
$15,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates General Duties: The
Clinical RN Manger is responsible for the day-to-day shift
operations in the Surgery Department. He/she manages human
resources at the unit level in a cost-effective manner. The
Clinical RN Manager promptly and fully investigates and resolves
complaints of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, advising
management/ administration appropriately. The Clinical RN Manager
demonstrates an ability to respond and provide direction in
changing workload during crisis and emergency situations. The
Clinical RN Manager accepts responsibility for helping employees
understand difficult administrative decisions. Access to all

Specific Duties: 1. Develops and publish department master staff
schedules 2. Assist in making clinical assignments based on need
and appropriate skill level 3. Maintains departmental services in
accordance with standards established by Hospital Administrations.
Responsible for ensuring applicable regulatory standards are
stablished, implemented and monitored 4. Assist the department
director in managing cost centers within flex budgets 5.
Coordinates and/or trains and develops staff members for new
responsibilities and authority as departmental needs dictate,
including new equipment competency 6. Monitors the department's
activities and takes appropriate action to ensure efficient
effective operations; observes ongoing operations and analyzes
performance to identify potential problems 7. Coordinates
attendance at Hospital Orientation for all new employees,
facilitates, and participates in department specific orientation
for all employees. 8. Assist staff to ensure they complete
mandatory continuing education requirements 9. Completes
performance evaluations for designated staff 10. Assists the
department director with and provides input into the capital budget
11. Participates in management meetings and initiatives as
appropriate 12. Act as clinical resource for staff members 13.
Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with
members of the surgical services team and physicians 14.
Operationally and fiscally manage the department during tour of
duty 15. Insures physical facilities are maintained including
temperature, humidity, air circulation, and vacuum and gas systems
16. Facilitates or conduct interviews for staff selection 17.
Assist in evaluating staff member performance 18. Coordinates with
and monitors vendor support in Perioperative Services. Obtains
quotes and provides input to the Capital Budget for Perioperative
Services. Ensures PAR levels are maintained and decremented from
the shelves appropriately. Monitors the use and cost of implants,
equipment, and supplies while providing surgeon satisfaction 19.
Assure that appropriate personnel, equipment, implants, and
supplies are available 20. Insures that department quality
improvement programs interface with and support hospital wide
performance improvement program 21. Schedules the collection of
data for priority issues and as part of an ongoing process of
continuing the measurement of department performance 22. Monitors
the results of the measurement of the performance. 23. Provides
reports to the Surgery Committee in regards to turnaround time, on
time starts, block utilization, etc. Who We Are We are a community

Required: Current California RN License Bachelor of Science in
Nursing (BSN) Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
(maintain current at all times) Minimum of 3 years clinical
experience Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional
manner Preferred: Current American Heart Association ACLS and PALS
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Previous management
experience is a plus TNCC/ENPC Certification Shift: Days Hours:
0630-1500 Schedule: Full Time (exempt). Monday thru Friday LI-DH1
