Our world-class eye doctors are experts in all aspects of eye care as well as leading specialists in vision correction, cataract surgery, and laser eye surgery. We offer everything from cataract removal to cosmetic procedures such as eyelid surgery. We are seeking an experienced HR director with outstanding people skills to manage our personnel and ensure that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives. Duties for the HR director will include supervising HR personnel, dealing with employee grievances and disputes, supporting employee development, enhancing job satisfaction, designing onboarding procedures, implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, structuring benefit packages, maintaining employee records, managing budgets, designing accountability mechanisms, and overseeing overall employment needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advises the Executive Team (CEO, CFO, COO) of any significant events that occur which may have an impact on the Company.
  • Ensures compliance with all California and Federal employment laws, including but not limited to Leaves of Absence, OSHA, ADA, IIPP, HIPAA.
  • Coaches management and all staff on the interpretation of HR policies, programs, procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Assists all managers with annual performance, salary, and incentive program evaluations.
  • Oversees all company training initiatives which includes policy updates, sexual harassment, best practices, and safety.
  • Manages organizational development for the company and forecasts hiring needs when necessary. This includes the continuing development of a company pay structure and job descriptions.
  • Conducts investigations on employee-related issues including any allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, or workplace violence.
  • Oversees full-cycle employment functions new hire through separation including recruitment and pre-hire; staffing reports; interviewing and orientation; training, performance management and succession planning; ensures that all potentially adverse employment actions such as written warnings, involuntary terminations and/or demotions are defendable and well-documented.
  • Oversees HR Data Analytics and Safety/Training Analytics. Ensures adherence to the HR Budget & prepares forecasts accordingly.
  • Provides top level leadership and support in Safety compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, ensure compliance of all OSHA regulations.
  • Oversees employee recognition programs; recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Works to create a work environment that will foster teamwork and cooperation among departments.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
      • 5-8 years of direct HR experience, including an understanding of Work Comp oversight.
      • PHR / SHRM Certification, Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience.
      • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and regulatory requirements.
      • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
      • Ability to understand problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
      • Ability to interact with multiple levels of employees working in various business functions
      • Ability to adapt to new information, different or unexpected circumstances

            REQUIREMENT:
            • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Azul Vision will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.
