PakLab employs a world-class team of Engineers, Chemists, Microbiologists, Lab Technicians, Designers and Packaging Specialists who oversee the process from conception to completion.The HR Generalist (HRG) is a hands-on role supporting our manufacturing plants located in California and Ohio. This position is based out of Chino, California and reports to the Director of HR. The HRG will work closely with an established team of HR professionals. The HRG is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of HR to include, but not limited to employee relations, policy communication and compliance, recruiting, onboardings, employment compliance, HR administration, payroll support (back-up) as well as other HR disciplines.*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ** Heavy, full-cycle recruiting to include writing ads, posting jobs, reviewing resumes, screening applicants, interviewing (scheduling and participating). Maintain continuous recruiting efforts throughout the year.* Manages employee events, employee recognition programs and activities to include the planning, facilitation, monitoring and execution of these efforts and initiatives.* Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements relating with day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provide guidance on policy interpretation.* Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Maintains the employee handbook and HR policies and procedures manual.* Completes required reports (headcount, overtime, attendance, org charts, telephone directory, etc.).* Assists in maintaining current job descriptions and job description program.* Monitors attendance program. Processes weekly payroll (back-up).* Responds to unemployment claims, verifications of employment.* Completes onboarding functions for new employees, including pre-boarding, ensuring onboarding schedule is established with hiring department as well as scheduling/coordinating of required training. Completion of all required paperwork and start of employee files. Familiar with E-verify.* Administers open enrollment activities to include the planning, facilitating, monitoring and execution of pre- and post-open enrollment effort.* Responsible for maintaining all HR communication boards, monitors, intranet and newsletter.* Have a visual presence throughout the organization, to include offices, manufacturing and warehouse.* Be part of developing, recommending and coordinating employee relations activities to maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and experience.* Manages the full cycle administration for leaves of absence.* Tracks all mandated training and required certificates and licenses.* Works closely with all employees to maintain good communication while building trusted relationships.* Other duties as assigned.*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** Bachelor's degree preferred - comparable experience may be substituted for degree. PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or PHRca certification a plus.* Minimum 3 years experience in HR with progressive duties in employee relations, recruiting, benefits, compensation and/or training preferred.* Excellent computer skills in HRIS programs. ADP Workforce a plus. Time and Attendance programs. Proficient in MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, exceptional customer service skills. Bi-lingual English/Spanish (verbal and written) a plus.* Excellent interpersonal skills - a proven history of effective relationship building and the ability to work well with all levels within the organization.* Knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices and recruitment strategies, able to produce innovative and effective talent acquisition solutions.* Employee relations practices to include fact finding, managing conflict and developing win/win solutions is desired.* Working knowledge of HR best practices and compliance with government and legal regulations. Knowledge of federal/state laws including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, ADA, EEO, HIPPA, WC.* Payroll processing experience with multi-shifts/multi-sites. ADP Workforce experience a plus.* Experience in proactive employee relations, recruitment and staffing.* Experience working with temporary employees and respective staffing agencies.* Familiar with safety protocols and best practices. Familiar with OSHA standards a plus. Familiar with worker's compensation administration practices.*OTHER REQUIREMENTS ** Good attendance, to include punctuality. Strong work ethic.* Strong organizational, planning, time management and priority-setting skills, ability to produce accurate work results and handle multiple projects. Must understand a sense of urgency.* Business acumen in current and possible future HR policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting business and organization.* Influence others - can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of the organization with a minimal amount of noise. Authentically gains trust and support of peers.* Hands-on, results-oriented approach to business with "can do" attitude.* Excellent interpersonal skills - a proven history of effective relationship building and the ability to work well with all levels within the organization.* Must be team player, dedicated, enthusiastic with a positive attitude, self-starter with exceptional follow-through skills.* Ability to exercise good judgment with effective decision making, creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
