As a member of the Demand Request & Application Development team,
within the Information Technology organization, the Application
Developer I is directly responsible for creating advanced
application solutions that accelerate our overall digital
transformation. This is a hands-on role, responsible for the
complete life cycle of information systems; from requirements and
analysis to design and development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engineers application development assignments, effectively
designing and delivering high-quality, data-driven technology
solutions that align with NFI's strategy.
- Consults with Business Analysts, functional and technical
staff, and other data consumers and stakeholders to analyze
customer requirements to determine the feasibility of design within
time and cost constraints.
- Designs and develops application solutions, ensuring all
solutions are aligned to predefined and agreed-upon
specifications.
- Learns, uses, and becomes proficient in NFI's established
technology, tools, and techniques standards.
- Implements, tests, troubleshoots, documents, and supports data
formats and translations between them.
- Maintains and supports assigned systems, ensuring minimal
downtime or loss of productivity and services.
- Attends daily meetings to discuss ongoing assignments, testing,
and deployment.
- Provides support to technical and non-technical stakeholders
and customers.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the
role and determined by management.
Expectations:
- BA/BS degree strongly preferred, will consider comparable work
experience
- 2-4 years of relevant experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, HTML, ASPX, and C# is
required
- Knowledge of building database queries (Oracle, MariaDB) is
required
- Knowledge of Jasper Reports, ZPL coding, Bartender, and
DevExpress is a plus
- Knowledge of the GIT repository is a plus
- Knowledge of container management (Red Hat Openshift) is a
plus
- Broad, generalist knowledge of core elements or concepts
relevant to the role
- Focuses on learning existing tools, resources, and processes at
NFI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Software development experience with demonstrated coding,
testing, deployment, and follow-up skills
- Knowledge of application development tools, techniques,
methodologies, and best practices
- Experience working on projects from concept through
implementation, either alone or as part of a team

(California Applicants) We are excited to share the base salary
range for this position is $87,691.50-$116,922.00. This position is
also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%.
NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications,
experience, education, geographic location, when determining a
starting rate of pay.
