Solare Power is expanding and looking to add the right candidate to our solar installation team as our crew lead. Our ideal candidate has solar photovoltaic (PV) installation experience, excellent physical stamina for lifting and mounting solar panels on our clients' roofs and knows how to use power tools for constructing the framing of the panels and configuring the wiring. To be a fit for a Crew Lead you must be able to lead a crew of 2-3 installers to complete rooftop solar jobs from layout to commissioning. Having a passion for safety, high quality work, and attention to detail are a must. We are not a turn and burn operation we focus on delivering a great install and great customer experience and our leads are crucial in meeting that goal.You must have a background in a field like roofing or any systems that use electricity. General construction experience is also acceptable. The solar PV installer must have strong technical skills and must be able to read schematics, understand electrical systems, and use specialized tools and equipment to complete their jobs. The solar installer position is responsible for installing solar panels on roofs, in fields, or other surfaces. Work with a variety of different equipment and materials to ensure that the panels installed are properly connected and functioning correctly. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. May perform minor electrical work such as current checks. Once the panels are installed, the solar installer may need to check the electrical systems for proper wiring, polarity, and grounding, and also perform maintenance as needed.Because solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, most solar installations are done outdoors. Residential solar installers work on rooftops and in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electric grid. Solar installers may work alone or as part of a team. On more extensive construction programs, the solar installer may be responsible for managing work crews, so leadership skills are a plus. _In addition to these technical skills, a solar technician needs to have good customer service, attention to detail and a strong work ethic to be successful._ _Solar Installer Responsibilities: _ Assess the job site, identify and resolve any potential hazards Create or interpret the solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all of the components will be installed. Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar panel systems, including the solar collectors, concentrators, batteries, pumps, fans, or support structure. Do any and all electrical work needed to connect solar system to electric grid. This includes proper grounding systems, controls and all testing necessary. Weatherproof the solar installation in accordance with local safety regulations and the specifications of the manufacturer.In other words, a solar technician will either install or maintain solar panels, either on a roof or some other structure, and will do it according to the predetermined plans, building codes, and safety restrictions._Solar Installer Requirements and Qualifications: _ High school diploma or GED certificate Construction experience Physical strength and stamina Familiarity with electricity and wiring proceduresExperience Installing Solar PV a plus. Bilingual a plus. Preference to those with licensing, Electrical Apprentice and NABCEP certified professionals. _If you're good at installing solar, you can work anywhere. They must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, and they may work in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time. They also work with power tools and must take precautions to avoid electrical shocks. Solar installers typically work full time, and their work hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. They may also work overtime to meet deadlines.
