Job Description and DutiesUnder the direction of the Personnel
Supervisor I, the Personnel Services Specialist works independently
with a variety and complex work. This position requires a thorough
and detailed knowledge and application of appropriate state,
departmental, control agency, laws, rules, regulations, bargaining
unit provisions, etc. pertaining to personnel transactions in the
areas of record keeping, certification, payroll and personnel
document processing and related personnel functions. This is a
multi-range level class spanning from entry through advanced
journey levels. This position requires punctuality, dependability,
the ability to work independently, and to recognize important
situations, be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks,
process documents timely, maintain confidential information and
also requires good interpersonal skills in dealing with the public
and employees. Ranges B, C, and D: Under close supervision at the
entry level, and under general supervision at the journey and
advanced levels, and in accordance with established procedures,
incumbents are assigned progressively more complex and difficult
transactions duties in a variety of personnel transactions areas.
Experienced incumbents in this class may provide functional
guidance to lower-level staff.Limited term 12 months; may be
extended up to 24 months or become permanent.You will find
