Job Description:
Now Hiring a Price Analyst in Chino, CA for a large cosmetics
company. Salary Exempt: $65K Monday-Friday 8am. to 5pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES Own the quoting process to improve
accuracy of product quotes through improved data driven
assumptions, validated through factory observation and cost
actuals. Own the standard cost revision process to alert manager of
price changes in Raw Materials and Components and update MRP for
latest pricing. Provide fact-based analysis to management in
selecting pricing strategies that result in increased sales, profit
and/or market share Work with Management and Sales to ensure profit
margins are maintained as costs increase by reviewing margins and
regularly updating quotes Support Sales/Customer Service team by
providing timely and accurate responses to customer RFQs Specific
tasks to own: Prepare all quote sheets with fact-based inputs.
Identify latest and projected raw material and component costs from
Procurement Department and historical accounting records as inputs.
Identify latest and projected manufacturing throughput assumptions
and labor costs from Manufacturing as inputs. Audit Factory
performance vs Standards for throughput and labor charges, i.e.
oversight factory line with stopwatch, as inputs. Update quote
sheet template to improve accuracy, better communication
assumptions, and streamline quoting process. Work with Factory
management to update product family throughput standards when
appropriate. Alert Management to vendor cost changes on raw
materials and components. Update MRP with latest costs paid on raw
materials and components in the monthly standards roll. Ad hoc
costing & pricing analyses as needed. Guide cost analysis process
by providing information on trends and forecasts, explaining
processes and techniques, and recommending actions by interpreting
data and making comparative analyses Actively participate in ERP
system conversion Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory
requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Perform
other duties and projects as assigned by management REQUIREMENTS
Positive, hands-on individual with a strong work ethic that "raises
the bar" and challenge the team to continuously improve At least
five years--- experience in cost/price analysis, preferably in a
manufacturing/standard cost environment Ability to prioritize
workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet
strict deadlines Proficient with automated estimating, pricing, and
accounting systems, spreadsheet and database applications, and MRP
systems (Sage Pro and SAP preferred) Ability to read, analyze,
organize, and interpret moderately complex estimates, price
proposals, and financial reports Ability to effectively communicate
and collaborate with various levels of leadership and across
functional departments Strong problem-solving skills and ability to
lead and implement change and process improvements Ability to
respond to inquiries or complaints from customers High degree of
adaptability & flexibility, ability to prioritize with changing
situations Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Bilingual in Spanish a plus Occasional travel may be required
(generally less than 25%) EDUCATION BA in Accounting, Business
Administration or related field Relevant industry experience may be
considered in lieu of college degree; HS Diploma will be
required.
