Responsibilities:
Primary Function:Provide the Warehouse Group with a liaison link
between leadership, customer service, warehouse floor and carriers
with a goal of customer satisfaction and on-time shipments at the
best rate and service to prevent CIOs and detention.ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate and maintain consistency and
accuracy of the daily master shipping/receiving schedule for the
CHCA facility using JDE, dcLink and TMC as resource of data.Back up
and coordinate TL and LTL pickups with carriers thru TMC
Software.Communicate and advise of shipment opportunities with
customer service. Communicate with customers, vendors, and carriers
to schedule appointments for deliveries and pickups. Coordinate the
flow of shipping documents from office to warehouse floor. Assure
all loads shipped are ship confirmed and that all documentation is
accurate for reporting purposes.Back up and coordinate all drop
trailer shipments.Set up or advise on all Specialty Shipments or
receipts to ensure the best rate and carrier for the task.Ability
to complete On Time Shipment Report and other Daily Shipping
Reports. Process and track all of the departments invoices working
closely with vendors, site Controller, and other corporate
personnel. Being the direct after hours contact for Coordinators.
Assign or remove extra tasks to Coordinators as needed for work
flow with the direction of dept. leadership.Back up and ensure that
all dept. training material is up to date and in QSI.Support, track
and report all carrier opportunities for semiannual meetings with
carriers.Cross-trained and able to cover all jobs in the department
for flexibility and coverage on all shifts.Assist with employee
evaluations, goal reaching, yearly and tracking of development
throughout the year.Identify and participate in Continuous
Improvement (CI) projects throughout the department or where
necessary. Enter, research and submit all freight claims and
shipping TICs in TICs process.Assist with supervision of daily
shipping and receiving functions including the scheduling, loading,
and unloading of all products and customer returns. Communicate
with QA Department and Plant Management concerning all customer
returns.Maintain QA product within the department and assist with
disposition of product as requested. Communicate with Leads and
Supervisors concerning issues that affect inventory, shipping or
receipt of products. Perform all other tasks as needed on any shift
as required.Responsible for adhering to and executing the
applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to
provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to
Berry, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.
Qualifications:
QualificationsMinimum high school diploma or GED equivalent; prefer
a college degree or 5+ years specific experience in transportation,
shipping, receiving, inventory, and/or warehousing.Must have good
speaking abilitiesMust be able to read, write and understand
EnglishMust be proficient in Excel and Word programsSelf- motivated
and superior problem-solving skillsProven ability to work
independently and within a team environmentEXPERIENCE Strong
leadership, communication and motivational skills. Knowledge of
D.O.T. rules and regulations, city rules and regulations pertaining
to truck traffic (preferred).
